The Magazine Idea

Seeing that one of my outcomes is going to be a zine i thought that it would be right to research the conventions of a zine and what makes a zine so appealing. I looked at a range of magazines to start of with because thats what zines are, just smaller magazines. I looked at Magazines such as Vibe, Kerrang and Rap Radar. Zines always have some sort of Masthead, logo or Icon to represent the entire zine and I think that, that makes a good first impression With magazines the mastheads are usually just words but with zines you are more free to break the convention rules and maybe just have a logo. Usually Zines have a front cover image that may relate to what is inside or it mat simply jus be that it looks aesthetically pleasing with some sort of relevance to the zine. Some zines use illustrations as their front cover or even throughout, i noticed that those are a lot more common.
