Today on the other hand was really productive because i was able to create the final plans for the zine,. Previously, last week I started to sketch out the layouts of how the double page spreads in the zine would look like. I've noticed that its easier to bring ideas to life in your head than it is digitally. The amount of trial and errors i went through today, it was frustrating, the layout at first didn't look that great at first it was just not how i visualised it in my head, it looked "unprofessional" to me, and half hearted .

I think i was too focused on trying to make my zine look minimal so my brain wasn't open to any of other ideas and i guess it closed off the my creativity. Also on paper, from sketching up ideas, the idea of having their names across the image did not work out the way i thought it would and i was disappointed. I even tried to change the font but the pieces just weren't linking together.
I then tried a much simpler approach where i just had a full bleed image on one side of the page and have the text on the other side. I liked this layout because it is simple and it does fulfil the theme of it being minimal. I asked my friends and sister what they thought of both thought that this second layout looked better than the first concept.
From this part of the project I learned that things don't always come out the way you want it to. Before i mentioned that today was it productive, I may not have come out with final idea of what I wanted my double page spread to look like but I was able to push myself through trial and error. I humbled myself enough to open my mind to new ideas and try step out of my comfort zone.
